WebAlert Alarm Monitoring Services

How does Central Station Monitoring Work?

With Central Station Monitoring, your alarm panel calls the Central Station to report activity. Activity reported can be a burglary, fire, or medical emergency. Additional data can be sent regarding loss of power, low batteries, system failure, automatic arming/disarming, force arming, zone troubles, and so forth. If the activity reported is a burglary, fire or medical emergency, the proper authorities are notified to dispatch assistance. The Central Station may also contact a pre-determined group of people on your "Emergency Call List" to interact with authorities.

This process usually works well, but loses efficiency when the Central Station receives indications of alarm activity not based on an actual emergency or critical problem. When the Central Station receives indications of those types of alarm activity, the first person they can reach on the Emergency Call List is notified of the situation, regardless of whether or not it's critical... which it usually isn't.

The central station will notify someone when this type of activity occurs, regardless of the time of day or night. In many cases, the people receiving this information are inconvenienced and are not the ones in a position to actually authorize maintenance or repair services. These types of problems can be solved using the WEBAlert™ System.
