Who's Watching You?

As the use of video doorbells and surveillance cameras continue to increase, make sure you’re not sacrificing privacy in order to jump on the current tech train.

You don’t have to worry when you get your equipment from A & E Security and Electronic Solutions.

As video technology normalizes in today’s marketplace, it’s easy to find a device for any level of expertise, particular need, or budget. However, over the past year, reports of surveillance camera hacking are on the rise.

Yes, there are video doorbell and surveillance cameras on the market for relatively low cost. These are also touted as DYI, claiming consumers can install and monitor these devices themselves. This may be true. However, you may not be the only one monitoring your property and family.

The news is replete with stories of homeowners whose security cameras have been hacked, resulting in unknown Internet lurkers watching in-home activities, sometimes even commenting on private behavior or speaking to and scaring children or babies who have cameras in their bedrooms.

Professionally Installed Privacy

When you work with a Security company like A & E, we ensure your equipment is installed in the most secure way possible.

Our partners lead the Security industry by offering HD video quality, digital storage, advanced control features and flexibility. We’ll ensure the proper encrypted video management software is installed, giving you the ability to securely and privately view captured images from anywhere, using a smartphone or tablet.

We’ll help make your Home a Smart Home, and in addition to cameras, we can install Smart Lighting, Smart Locks, and room sensors. Monthly monitoring starts at just $19.95, keeping you connected to emergency services 24/7.

Only You Can Prevent Camera Hacks

No single organization appears to be monitoring or regulating smart device hackings, but experts expect the problem to grow along with the proliferation of smart devices.

Twenty-five billion connected devices are expected to be in use by 2021, up from 14.2 billion this year, according to research company Gartner.

What goes on in your home is your business. Keep it that way.

Oregon has declared October Fire Prevention Month.

While you may feel safe in your home, there are several invisible dangers you may not be aware of. They include fire, carbon monoxide and water leaks.

It's time to focus on safeguarding your home and loved ones against these hazards.

What You Can Do

The theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Month is, “Not every hero wears a cape. Plan and practice your escape.”  In that spirit, take the time to proactively prepare for any possibility.

  1. Ensure your home has working smoke alarms and remember to check them monthly.

  2. Make an escape map, showing every window and door and share it with everyone in the household.

  3. Know two ways out of every room, if possible.

  4. Have an outside meeting place a safe distance from the home where everyone should meet.

  5. Practice your home fire drill at least twice a year, during the night and day.

  6. When the smoke alarm sounds, get out and stay out; never go back inside for others or pets. Once outside, then call 9-1-1.

WHAT'S NEW

In today’s technology-driven marketplace, fully installed conduit and wiring is a given for new home buyers.

Homeowners expect new homes to be fully integrated with the newest technologies, ready for all manner of plug-and-play equipment.

Pre-wiring from A & E Security can keep you in line with current tech.

Convenient, Simple, Affordable

Pre-wiring during the building process is the most cost-effective way to plan for the future, as wiring post-construction will be cost-prohibitive. Ensuring wiring for data and video is in place when you build a home is by far the most effective way to plan for the future.

SM

Smart Home Wiring
With Smart Technology on the rise, pre-wiring should be installed in anticipation of the following uses:

Internet

Pre-wiring will provide a strong foundation for WiFi connectivity within the entire home. Correctly installed Internet access will prevent the need for routers placed throughout the house. By wiring for data, reliability and security is increased dramatically.

TV

Proper cables available at every location where a TV may be placed will keep your Smart TV connected to your favorite shows, movies and other online content providers.

Audio

Enjoy music and other audio throughout your home with multi-room audio. Pre-wire for surround sound, individual speakers and audio bars for home cinemas.

Home Security

Entire security systems can be wired, or, just the keypads if wireless. Additional peace of mind can be had by monitoring the security system and home on any Smart device, from anywhere.

Video Surveillance

System pre-wiring or wireless access can make surveillance convenient. With high resolution cameras, wiring is preferable for best clarity.

Control Panel

Installation of an easily accessible panel allows for convenience and control throughout the house, eliminating the need for multiple routers or controllers.

Home Automation

Home Automation and virtual assistants are becoming standard. Video doorbells, smart locks, smart lighting and smart thermostats can be centralized, along with the entertainment options above. What’s more, all features can be monitored and controlled through a single app on your Smart device.

Installing conduit during construction will save time, money, inconvenience and mess in the long run. Pre-wiring prevents the need to tear out drywall to install new types of cables that may be necessary for future technology.

When to Go Wireless

Wireless has continued to improve and stabilize, and WiFi is best choice for Smartphone use. For a fully-integrated Smart Home experience, a combination of Wired and Wireless works best, as each component can be installed using the connection best for that part, providing optimal performance for the entire system.

Smart Home packages start at $1,295 and include:

  • 100% Wireless Internet Coverage

  • Prewire for Security

  • Smart Lighting

  • Thermostat

  • Door Bell

For those components that require hard wiring, A & E Security can help hide wires, providing the clean look of wireless with the dependability of wired tech.

Pre-wiring takes a lot of planning and can be daunting during the building process. Not sure where to start? We can help.

In addition to pre-wiring, A & E Security offers security systems, fire alarms, life safety, video surveillance and home and business automation systems that will make life more efficient,  functional and enjoyable.

MARKETPLACE

If you are looking for the added security of a video doorbell without an Internet service provider requirement, monitoring contract or monthly fees,
A & E Security and Electronic Solutions has the product for you.

The iVision+ Connect Wireless Video Intercom System combines convenience, connectivity, and communication all into one battery-powered bundle that functions with or without an Internet service provider connection.

True Vision
The iVision+ Connect comes with a Door Station and Mobile Station. When a visitor presses the doorbell button on the Door Station, a notification is sent to the Mobile Station, which displays an image of the visitor at the door.

Two-way communication allows you to talk with the visitor before you open the door.

For even more convenience, expand this system to include a Wi-Fi connection and a Door Interface, allowing you to unlock, or “buzz,” a visitor in. The Interface operates as a chime even when Wi-Fi is down.

The OPTEX Vision App provides a remote connection to the video intercom and door release system. Easy to use, you can expand and install the app on multiple smart phones/tablets. You can even install interfaces on multiple doors, with multiple users able to monitor all comings and goings within your home or office.

The iVision+ Connect Advantage

TRUE WIRELESS

While you’ll want Wi-Fi to monitor the system on multiple devices, the system can function with or without an Internet service provider connection. This sets the iVision system apart from traditional Wi-Fi dependent video doorbell systems that fall short for commercial applications.

INTERACTIVE APP

View, monitor, and share with others on the network through any smartphones /tablets, or additional mobile stations, all from the convenient app. Videos recorded by the door station can be stored via cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive, or with an SD card, without the need for contracts or monthly fees.

EASILY EXPANDABLE

The system is fully expandable to accommodate multiple smartphones, tablets, and door stations, while door unlocking functionality is available for all door stations and includes a chime capability on the Door Interface unit with selectable chime tones and volume.

iVision+ Connect is an ideal video intercom system for office environments, retail stores, and other commercial, or even residential settings.
